SKOWHEGAN — Skowhegan River Days 2025 is here! This year, festivities have been scheduled for four days throughout the summer, and all include the Bites & Sites: The Downtown Skowhegan Food Tour.
The inaugural June 27 event included vendor fairs, carriage rides, a story walk, the Glow Stick Paddle and more.
More activities and fun have been organized for July 11, Aug. 8 and Sept. 18.
Festivities on Friday, July 11, will include Moonlight Madness activities.
The Aug. 8 event offers artists the opportunity to Paint Skowhegan. Artists will chose a location based on a map and paint (any two-dimensional medium) the location within a timeframe. River Fest attendees can vote for the their favorites. The Paddling Film Festival World Tour, set for 4-9 p.m., will feature a selection of paddling films from around the globe on an outdoor screen.
The Kennebec River Ramble is planned for Sept. 12 starting at 65 Water St.; a start time has yet to be determined. The guided journey from Skowhegan to Waterville will be led by the Skowhegan Outdoors team. This long-distance paddle celebrates the past, present and future significance of the river.
