A benefit concert featuring musicians James Rice and the Portland-based group Hambone for the Norway Opera House will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, at Norway Brewing Company in Norway.
The Norway Opera House is raising a symbolic $1.78 million to match the $1.78 million in CDS funds secured by Norway Downtown in March of this year. The funds secured by Norway Downtown will be utilized to replace the roof, repair roof trusses, and restore the building’s back wall. The Norway Opera House is directing fundraising dollars towards the interior of the building as they work to open the performance space to the community once again.
The next fundraising event to benefit the Norway Opera House will be the annual Street Dance from 5-10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, in Longley Square.

There is no cover charge for this event, and attendees will have the chance to participate in a 50/50 raffle, with prizes generously donated by The Woods Maine Shop, Fiber and Vine, Handmade in Maine, and The Raven Collections, all shops located on the first floor of the Norway Opera House.
