MANCHESTER — The 53rd annual United Way of Kennebec Valley Golf Scramble, held Aug. 7 at the Augusta Country Club, raised $21,883 to support community programming — nearly a $2,000 increase over last year. 

Proceeds will support United Way of Kennebec Valley’s annual fundraising campaign, which funds 58 nonprofit and school-based programs across Kennebec County, according to a news release from the Augusta-based chamber. 

2023 United Way Golf Scramble winners: 

  • 1st Gross — Joe McGrath, Corey Porterfield, Sean Boulanger and Nick Cote.
  • 2nd Gross — Mark Bailey, Jeremy Payne, Dan Freeman and Nick Daigle, representing Readfield Insurance.
  • 1st Net — Matt Walker, Michael Pingree, Kelly Huggins and Gary Smith, representing One River CPAs.
  • 2nd Net — Danielle Sichterman, Sheena Hanson, Emily Domingo and Callie Liubinski, representing Harvard Pilgrim.
