WAYNE — The Kennebec Land Trust’s 35th anniversary annual meeting, celebration and honoring of land donors is set for Sunday, Aug. 20, at Camp Androscoggin, 126 Leadbetter Road.

Many of the trust’s 1,100 household members plan to attend. People are welcome to come for any part of it; there is no cost.

The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a guided walk of the adjacent Perkins Woods Preserve with biologist and KLT Advisor Dr. Eric Doucette. It will be followed by:

• Free time at Camp Androscoggin from 11 a.m. to noon with children’s nature art activities, open swim and paddle, and an anniversary slide show;

• 35th Anniversary Trail Challenge Celebration from noon-1 p.m.;

• Bring-your-own picnic lunch with beverages and desserts provided;

• Live music featuring the Sandy River Ramblers and;

• Annual meeting and intern presentations from 1-2 p.m.

At the meeting, members will honor the following land donors for their land conservation donations: Donna and Owen Buck — Downing Woods Mount Pisgah Addition, Winthrop, 36 acres; Leann Diehl — Reynolds Forest Diehl Addition, Sidney, 7 acres; and Dick Wagner, Scott Wagner, and Mary Jo Wagner Dedon-Wagner — Woods Conservation Area, Manchester, 68 acres.

Founded in 1988, Kennebec Land Trust has conserved more than 7,690 acres and constructed more than 58 miles of trails on KLT lands.
