PITTSFIELD — A man and two women are scheduled to appear in court in July following a search this week of a home on Sibley Pond Road in which authorities say they seized fentanyl, crack cocaine and other drugs.
Brett Johnson, 40, who lives at the home but was not there at the time, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in Scheduled W drugs, possession of scheduled drugs, and violation of conditions of release, according to Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster.
Besides finding fentanyl and crack cocaine at the home, authorities also seized about 275 pills including morphine and oxycodone, suboxone strips, digital scales, illegal drug-related paraphernalia and documents, eight rifles and four loaded pistols, Lancaster said Friday in an email.
As the home was being searched Monday, deputies stopped a vehicle on U.S. Route 2 in Canaan in which Johnson was a passenger and they found a small amount of crack cocaine, fentanyl and drug-related paraphernalia, according to Lancaster.
Johnson was on bail for unrelated charges with a condition that he not possess firearms, he said. The drug trafficking charge is aggravated because the amount of fentanyl seized was more than six grams, Lancaster said. Johnson’s bail on the aggravated trafficking charge was set at $25,000 cash and he is being held without bail on the violation of conditions of release charge. He is scheduled to appear in Somerset County Unified Criminal Court on July 5.
Dawn Smith, 32, of Waterville, was charged with aggravated trafficking in Scheduled W drugs and arrested on two outstanding warrants out of Kennebec County for theft and drug-related charges. Her bail was set at $10,000 cash on the drug trafficking charge and $2,000 cash on the arrest warrants.
Also charged but not arrested was Felicia Willard, 35, of Palmyra, who was at the home when it was searched. She was charged with possession of scheduled drugs, according to Lancaster. Both women also have court dates scheduled for July 5.
He said additional charges may be forthcoming once the case is reviewed by prosecutors.
Assisting the sheriff’s office in the search was the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Pittsfield police.
