FARMINGTON — It’s been a slow start to the high school Alpine skiing season in Maine, with many races getting postponed in the last six weeks.

However, several teams were able to finally taste some competition Wednesday at Titcomb Mountain, which hosted a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference/Mountain Valley Conference races.

Skiers are bracing for a busy next few weeks, with conference championship meets looming on the horizon.
