A Thorndike woman was charged with several criminal offenses after Maine State Police said she was involved in a weekend police chase that ended when the pickup she was driving crashed in Montville.
Nine charges were filed against 37-year-old Melissa Keller following the wreck that left her passenger injured, state police spokeswoman Shannon Moss said in an email late Monday.
The charges Keller now faces include seven counts of violating conditions of release, operating under the influence, aggravated driving to endanger and aggravated criminal mischief. She was being held at the Waldo County Jail, Moss said.
Keller was driving a Ford pickup erratically around 1 a.m. Sunday on the Bog Road in Albion when a trooper attempted to stop her, Moss previously said.
The pickup sped away and continued driving south. The trooper pursued through several towns until the pickup crashed on Halldale Road in Montville, about 10 miles away from where the pursuit began.
Keller fled on foot, leaving behind passenger Leroy Malcolm, 39, of Waterville, who was injured and trapped in the pickup.
Malcolm was taken to a hospital and remained hospitalized Tuesday.
He was charged with aggravated forgery, Moss said.
Keller was located a short time later and taken to the hospital for treatment.
