A district consolidation plan calls for the eventual closure of Albion Elementary School, but the town is pushing a proposal in which it would withdraw from the district, operate the elementary school on its own and secure an agreement from SAD 49 to accept its older students.

Voters give preliminary approval to $29.6 million budget for Fairfield-area school district
