Skowhegan Outdoors plans to offer a free cross-country skiing excursion at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, at Weston Woods and Waters at 9 Nathan St. in Madison.
In this community program, skiers will make their way along a scenic, forested trail system. This trail includes some small hills and moderate terrain, according to a news release from Somerset Woods Trustees.
Facilitators of Skowhegan Outdoors, a project of Main Street Skowhegan in collaboration with Somerset Woods Trustees, will offer tips and advice to experts and novices alike. Those who don’t have their own skis can request to borrow a pair from the Skowhegan Outdoors Community Gear Library.
