ORONO — Jonathan Bennett hit a three-run double in the first inning and three UMaine pitchers combined on a two-hitter in Game 1 as the Black Bears swept an America East baseball doubleheader Saturday against Albany, 10-2 and 4-1.

Zach Winn, Connor Johnson and Matt Geoffrion shut down Albany in the opener, with Winn picking up the win after going 5 1/3 innings. He struck out six, walked six and gave up one hit.

John Arel pitched 6 1/3 innings in Game 2, which Maine (7-19, 3-2 America East) won 4-1. Brandon Vicens put the Black Bears ahead for good with a two-run single in the first inning.

Albany fell to 9-10 overall, 1-4 in the conference.

ST. JOSEPH’S 5, LYNDON STATE 4: Matt Demma pitched six scoreless innings and Joey Murphy had two RBI for the Monks (8-5) in a win over the Hornets (4-10) at Standish.

Chris Gerossie and Ben Gravel each added an RBI single to help the Monks build a 4-0 lead after six innings.

USM SPLITS WITH R.I. COLLEGE: Kyle Heath drove in three runs and Ben Lambert pitched eight strong innings as Southern Maine (8-6, 1-1 Little East) earned a doubleheader split against Rhode Island College (9-7, 1-1) with a 5-2 victory in Providence, Rhode Island.

USM lost the opener, 14-11, despite a home run and six RBI from Andrew Hiller.

BOWDOIN, BATES SPLIT: Eric Mah’s RBI single in the eighth inning lifted Bowdoin (8-6, 2-0 NESCAC) to a 4-3 win over Bates (3-9, 0-2) in the first game of a doubleheader in Waterville.

In Game 2, Dan Trulli and Joe Lindgren each drove in two runs for Bates in a 5-3 win.

Austin Zakow homered for Bowdoin in the second game.

CENTRAL MAINE CC 6, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 3: Matthew Tremble’s two-run double in the 10th lifted the Mustangs (8-14) over the Seawolves (14-11) in South Portland.

Sean Adams led SMCC with three hits, including a home run.

BOWDOIN 10, TRINITY 7: Matthew Crowell scored three goals and Brett Kujala added two for the Polar Bears (6-2, 3-2 NESCAC) in a win over the Bantams (3-5, 0-4) at Brunswick.

BATES 19, HAMILTON 9: Clarke Jones finished with six goals, Matt Chlastwa scored four and Brendan Mullally added three as the Bobcats (6-4, 2-3 NESCAC) beat the Continentals (1-8, 0-5) in Clinton, New York.

USM 17, UMASS-BOSTON 14: Tristan Dundas scored four goals and Southern Maine (2-5, 1-0 Little East) used an 8-3 fourth-quarter advantage to rally past the Beacons (4-5, 0-1) in Gorham.

Steve Gilbert and Ethan Ouellette each added three goals.

WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 12, UNE 9: Garrett Bozek scored three goals and Collin Morrow and Alex Zadworny each added a pair for UNE (4-5, 0-1 CCC) in a loss to the Golden Bears (5-5, 2-0) in Biddeford.

MOUNT IDA 7, ST. JOSEPH’S 5: Tyler Retalic, Glenn Dion, and Shane Puleo staked St. Joseph’s (3-5, 0-1 GNAC) to an early 3-1 lead, but Mount Ida (2-6, 2-0) rallied at Standish.

WESLEYAN 17, COLBY 4: Tucker Dietrick finished with two goals and an assist for Colby (3-4, 1-4 NESCAC) in a loss to Wesleyan (7-1, 4-0) at Waterville.
