BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – Vermont’s Marlboro College is working to sell the Brattleboro building that houses its graduate school, which would be moved back to the school’s main campus in Marlboro.
The college bought the approximately 50,000-square-foot building on Vernon Street for $3.5 million in 2000.
Marlboro President Kevin Quigley says they want to relocate the graduate school in a way that makes the building more attractive for sale.
Quigley tells the Brattleboro Reformer that the reasons for the relocation are “more institutional” than financial. The 9 miles or so between the two campuses can sometimes make it difficult to connect the students.
The graduate school move is expected to take place in the winter or early spring.
Marlboro has about 100 students in its graduate school.
