The body of a middle-age man was found Tuesday morning in the parking lot of a recreational area in Durham, according to Maine State Police.

Authorities identified the body as that of Allen Kelly.

The body was found at Runaround Pond by a man who stopped to use the portable restroom, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety. No vehicle was found in the vicinity, he said. Police were planning to speak with people who lived in the area and might be related to the deceased.

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner, which is investigating the death, has scheduled an autopsy for Wednesday morning.

WCSH-TV reported that the pond is a popular destination for ice fishing.
