Egan Millard has been a digital producer and writer at the Press Herald since 2016. Originally from New York City, he came to Portland after several years in Anchorage, Alaska. There, he worked as a copy editor and then news editor at the Alaska Dispatch News (formerly the Anchorage Daily News), covering everything from the Iditarod to the oil industry crash to the occasional earthquake or volcanic eruption. He was previously an intern at New York magazine and a freelance editor. His poetry has appeared in The Worcester Review, Cirque, and most recently in “Building Fires in the Snow,” an anthology from the University of Alaska Press. He lives on Munjoy Hill in Portland. He also enjoys kayaking, small bookstores and Allen’s Coffee Brandy, so he’s certainly in the right place.
