Andy started his photojournalism career with the Kennebec Journal in 1995. Over the years, he has won numerous Maine Press Association awards for his images of Maine people, places and events and contributed to CentralMaine.com’s 2017-18 General Excellence Digital honor.

SNAPSHOT: Banner check
Camille Myers Breeze inspects a smudge sample from the painted silk banner hanging at the Hallowell Fire Department on Wednesday. Breeze, of Museum Textile Services of Andover, MA, assessed the condition of the banner that is believed to date from 1910 to determine its condition and work warranted to restore it. The banner was carried during processions at musters by the Hallowell Firemen’s Association “It’s one of the nicest painted silk banners I’ve ever seen,” Myers Breeze said. The tiger depicted in the banner was the name of the department’s engine at the turn of the 20th century.

Littefield and four colleagues from Crisis in Counseling portrayed hostages while law enforcement students from Thomas College and the University of Maine at Augusta depicted armed gunmen barricaded in a classroom, according to Augusta Police Lt. Kevin Lully. Negotiators from the Lewiston and Augusta Police Departments practiced persuading the hostage takers to surrender during the day-long training.
