The Palermo Community Library will host Charles Rotmil, who survived the Holocaust as a hidden child, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the library at 2789 Route 3 in Palermo.

He and his brother, Bernard, were the only survivors of their family. Rotmil is a speaker for the Holocaust and Rights Center of Maine, located on the campus of the University of Maine at Augusta, and has spoken to thousands of Maine students and teachers. He will share his remembrances of abandonment, fear and hiding, according to a news release from the library.
