A community poetry reading will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Mount Vernon Community Center, 2 Main St.

The event, sponsored by the Dr. Shaw Memorial Library, will feature an evening of readings of favorite poems and poets, given by community members of all ages. Bring your favorite book of poetry and read a poem to us, or just listen.
