Windsor voters elected incumbent Ray Bates and Bill Appel to the Board of Selectmen in Tuesday’s election.

The three-way race for two spots on the Windsor Board of Selectmen pitted Bates against two relative newcomers to town politics, Appel and Dustin Hinds, with the top two vote-getters winning the positions.

Bates received 237 votes, and Appel, 235, to win the spots, with Hinds receiving 186 votes, according to town officials.

Bates has been on the board for the last nine years, previously served another three years as a selectman in the early 2000s, and has served on the town Budget Committee and the Planning Board. He works as a licensed water operator, graduated from Mid-State College with a degree in accounting and served in the U.S. Air Force for four and a half years.
