Two people were injured in a head-on crash in Kennebunk Tuesday morning that shut down Fletcher Street for more than two hours, Kennebunk police said.

The crash occurred just east of Exit 25 of the Maine Turnpike about 8:30 a.m. Police said a 2001 Dodge pickup being driven by a 41-year-old Wells man crossed the center line and collided with a 2012 Volkwagen Jetta driven by a 51-year-old Kennebunk woman, according to police.

The pickup flipped on impact and then struck a third vehicle, a 2014 GMC pickup driven by a 47-year-old Kennebunk man. A fourth vehicle, a 2015 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 38-year-old Wells man, swerved to avoid the crash and caused some property damage, police said.

The drivers of the Dodge pickup and the Jetta were taken to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Fletcher Street was re-opened about 10 a.m.
