DAMARISCOTTA — Stewards of the Chapman-Hall House will hold a Mother’s Day open house and plant sale from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at 270 Main St.

The event will feature traditional Irish music provided by Darryn Petersen and friends. Petersen will play the Uilleann pipes, and the other musicians will bring their favorite instruments for traditional Irish tunes. In this informal setting, visitors can chat with the musicians about the music and the instruments.

Mothers will be offered free tours of the house.

Costumed docents will conduct tours of the period rooms that reflect the time frame of the mid-18th century to the early 19th century. Refreshments will be available in the kitchen.

On the grounds of the house, a selection of flowers and herbs will be offered for sale. Proceeds from regular admissions and the plant sale support the preservation of Chapman-Hall House.

Admission will cost $5; children younger than16 will be admitted free.

Chapman-Hall House will open for the summer season on June 2. Hours will be noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Columbus Day Weekend.

Additional 2018 programs include a Blacksmith in Residence on June 23 and the children’s program Summer with the Past, June 25-29.
