MANCHESTER — Stained Glass Express will present the entries of its “Just for Fun” Glass Art Contest, on display through April.

The annual contest, now in its 26th year, is held as part of its celebration of National Stained Glass month. Prizes are awarded by popular vote to winners in each of three categories, cold glass (for stained glass pieces); hot/warm glass (for flameworked and fused pieces); and mosaics.

“Every year, we look forward to the wide range of entries submitted,” said Janet Parkhurst, owner of Stained Glass Express, in a news release from Stained Glass Express. “It’s so much fun to see the artistry and creativity that glass inspires.”

The contest received more than 75 entries last year from glass artists throughout Maine, and one from Canada. First-place winners received a $100 gift certificate; second place received $75.

The deadline to submit work is 5 p.m. Saturday, March 31. There is no fee for entry, but entrants must agree to have their piece on display for all of April, according to the release.
