FARMINGTON — Two drivers were arrested over the weekend and charged with drunk driving in two separate crashes that sent one person to the hospital.

Deputy Chief Shane Cote said that on Sunday at about 8:15 p.m., Jeffrey S. Lewis, 31, of Hampden, was driving west on Wilton Road, when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a vehicle being driven by Casey Bragg, 31, of Farmington. Bragg was taken to the hospital with broken bones, which Cote guessed were her ribs. She was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and released.

Lewis was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and was taken to Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington. He was released later in the evening on $250 cash bail.

In a separate crash earlier that afternoon, Cote said a driver rolled his vehicle into a ditch and struck a telephone pole. That driver, Herbert C. Mosher IV, 21, apparently lost control of his vehicle before it overturned shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday on Town Farm Road. He was arrested, charged with driving under the influence and taken to the Farmington jail. He was released on $250 bail.

Mosher did not need to go to the hospital.
