ST. ALBANS — A Dixmont man has been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a camp on Devils Head Road in May, stealing guns and ammunition.

Cody Elton Weeman, 22, was arrested Thursday on multiple charges after Maine State Police found over $1,000 worth of allegedly stolen property at his residence in Dixmont when they executed a search warrant on May 22, according to a press release from Trooper Blake Conrad.

Trooper Jillian Monahan said she was not authorized to say where in Dixmont Weeman lived.

Weeman was later arrested at 11:52 a.m. Thursday, June 1, without incident, the release says.

Witnesses and suspects of another break-in gave police information that led them to believe Weeman had burglarized the St. Albans camp, Monahan said.

Monahan said Weeman also has an “extensive criminal history,” and that this wasn’t the first time he was arrested for theft and burglary.

On May 16, police had responded to a report of a burglary at the camp, where the owner said two shotguns, five game cameras and ammunition had gone missing.

Weeman was charged with burglary, a Class B felony; theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a Class B felony; illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a Class C felony; and violating conditions of release, a Class E misdemeanor.

He was taken to Somerset County Jail in East Madison, where he was being held until a judge sets his bail.
