Augusta Amateur Radio Association’s 21st annual WinterFest will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Le Club Calumet, 334 West River Road, in Augusta.

The event will feature a radio — and computer — related flea market (tables are free on a first-come, first-served basis), meetings for the various local ham nets (Seagull, Pine Tree, Slow Speed) and ARRL coordinated exams for all classes of amateur licenses.

The exams will be held at 11 a.m., require two forms of identification, and will cost $15.

George Szadis, K1GDI, will conduct QLF (a sarcastic ham expression for “try sending morse code with your left foot”) qualifications throughout the morning.

At the end of the hamfest, a charity auction will take place, with all proceeds going to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Door prizes will be drawn at noon. The winning ticket holder must be present to win. Top prizes include three, Baofeng 7-watt hand-held dual band transceivers with associated programming cables and software.

Admission will cost $5.
