ROCKLAND — Lauren Chadwick scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Gardiner girls basketball team erased a five-point fourth-quarter deficit en route to a 59-53 victory over Oceanside in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Friday night.
Mary Toman added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for Gardiner (11-7).
Jillian Brooks scored 14 points for Oceanside (7-11) in the loss.
MESSALONSKEE 55, WATERVILLE 32: Sophie Holmes scored 16 points to lead the Eagles over the Purple Panthers in Waterville.
Ally Turner scored 10 points, while Gabrielle Wener added nine points for Messalonskee (18-0).
Jordan Jabar led Waterville (9-9) with 15 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
MESSALONSKEE 74, WATERVILLE 37: Nate Violette scored 21 points and added seven rebounds and three steals to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Oakland.
James Kouletsis had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Messalonskee (13-5), while Griffin Tuttle added 10 points.
David Barre and Jack Lloyd each scored eight points for Waterville (1-17).
UNIFIED BASKETBALL
WATERVILLE 74, MESSALONSKEE 72: Nick Belanger scored 26 points to lead the Purple Panthers to the win in Waterville.
Hayden St. Amad and Joseph Libby-Cornett each added 12 points for Waterville (3-1).
Shawn McIntyre scored a team-high 22 points for Messalonskee (1-1).
