Ready, Set, Read! is the theme for the nationwide 2016 Collaborative Summer Reading Program. The first of the eight bi-weekly sessions, set for 10-11 a.m., will begin on Wednesday, July 6.

Participants should bring a white T-shirt to stencil. The program is appropriate for children in grades K-3. There is a $5 fee for each child attending to cover supplies. Irene Mortko is a retired Early Childhood Educator and a summer resident of Palermo. This is her sixth year as facilitator for this nationwide program.

Toddler Program with Mortko is set for 10 a.m. and will be bi-weekly starting Monday, July 11.

Middle Ages: Weapons of War and Tools! is the Summer Stem Program facilitated by KelLee Gray, a Library Board Trustee. The first of the eight bi-weekly sessions begins on Wednesday, July 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. The program is appropriate for children in fourth grade up to 12th grade. A $5 fee, for each student attending, covers the cost of supplies.

Chalky Paint Classes with Mortko begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, and continues the next three Thursdays. Classes provide an opportunity to chalk paint a small piece of furniture supplied by the participant. Registration is limited to 10 participants. A second class will be arranged for August if needed.
