DURHAM, N.H. — Sixteen local students graduated from the University of New Hampshire during the commencement ceremony May 21. Students who received the honor of summa cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.7-4.0; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.69; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.2-3.49.
They are Julie Arbour, of Augusta, Maine, bachelor of science degree in nursing; Lyndsay Canwell, of Mount Vernon, Maine, bachelor of science degree in biomedical science: medical microbiology magna cum laude; Kathleen Poulin, of Readfield, Maine, bachelor of science degree in social work cum laude; Mackenzie Hobbs, of Vienna, Maine, earned a bachelor of arts degree in English; Tyler Reeve, of Winthrop, Maine, bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering magna cum laude; Maxwell Brown, of Waterville, Maine, bachelor of arts degree in Spanish; Sydney Crogan, of Winslow, Maine, bachelor of science degree in business administration: marketing; and Ashley Nickless, of Belgrade, Maine, bachelor of science degree in social work.
Also, Derek Gervais, of Belgrade, Maine, bachelor of science degree in physics; Leah Caverly, of Clinton, Maine, bachelor of science degree in sustainable agriculture and food systems; Maxwell Kenney, of Fairfield, Maine, bachelor of science degree in environmental engineering: municipal processes cum laude; Claire Fletcher, of Farmington, Maine, earned an associate of applied science degree in integrated agriculture management honors; Jacob Withee, of Norridgewock, Maine, earned a master of science in zoology; Kallie Buzzell, of Oakland, Maine, bachelor of science degree in nutrition and wellness; Alan Kurtz of Palmyra, Maine, earned a Ph.D. in education; and Joel Graham, of Shawmut, Maine, earned a master of arts in music: music conducting.
