A man and woman from Northport were arrested Wednesday and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine in their apartment.
James Scheider, 39, and Stacey Dykes, 37, were each charged with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine, aggravated operation of a methamphetamine laboratory and a probation violation, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Working on a tip from Belfast police, agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Mid-Coast District Task Force arrested Scheider and Dykes at their apartment on Atlantic Highway and seized a one-pot laboratory and other items used to make meth.
The pair had been charged with making meth at their previous home in Bath and were sentenced in October 2014 for trafficking the drug.
Scheider was sentenced to five years in prison with all but 18 months suspended and three years of probation.
Dykes was sentenced to three years in prison with all but nine months suspended and three years of probation.
There were taken to Waldo County Jail in Belfast on Wednesday, where they are being held for violating probation.
Authorities have responded to 19 reports of meth labs in the state this year, the news release said.
