Bat condos, 11:30 a.m. in Bangor
The Bangor Land Trust is showcasing its two new bat condos at the West Penjajawoc Grasslands this week. These condos were installed in the hopes of attracting thousands of bats and were specially designed to be used by maternity colonies. Bats have been severely struggling because of white-nose syndrome and habitat loss. To see the condos, take Essex Street north to Chestnut Trail and go right onto Fox Hollow Lane. The land trust kiosk is at the end of the parking area. The nesting area is about a half-mile through the field.
