AUGUSTA — An Augusta man was indicted on 19 separate charges all related to a series of burglaries this year, including one that occurred at a home owned by a state trooper.
Dustin J. Woodworth, 30, is facing seven counts each of burglary and theft by unauthorized taking, three counts of criminal mischief and one count each of aggravated criminal mischief and unlawful possession of heroin, all between Jan. 1 and May 14 in Augusta, Chelsea and West Gardiner.
Woodworth was arrested in May and charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief after the state police said he broke into Trooper Tim Black’s garage and stole a kayak, ammunition and other items. Two other people were charged in that burglary, and investigators said the three were trying to get money to buy drugs.
Woodworth was scheduled to be arraigned on those charges in a hearing at the Capital Judicial Center Monday.
An indictment is not a determination of guilt, but it indicates that there is enough evidence to proceed with formal charges and a trial.
