RANGELEY — To celebrate the colors, taste and sounds of fall, local businesses in Rangeley and Oquossoc have teamed up for the Rangeley Oktoberfest.
Beginning on Thursday evening and ending late Saturday evening, a sampling of German foods, beers, music and a number of indoor and outdoor events have been scheduled including a Beer Stein Hoisting Competition. Participants are given a “Passport” and encouraged to visit a pub, restaurant or shop in each of the six districts of the festival and get a stamp. Once completed, participants are to drop off their completed Passport to the Saddleback Realty office on Main Street to be eligible for a drawing to win Rangeley Winter Fun Gift Packages and Prizes. The Rangeley PTA will also be offering a scavenger hunt of which there will be a prize drawing from all of the completed Scavenger Hunt cards.
The Big Green Saddleback Bus known as “The Pickle” will run a constant loop from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, transporting guests to each of the six regions and to all of the events, music, food, fun and beer tasting. Horse-drawn wagon rides will be available in downtown Rangeley all afternoon on Saturday.
