Augusta police arrested a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man Thursday afternoon in connection to a pair of robberies committed Tuesday and Thursday at a dry cleaners on Chapel Street and The Big Apple convenience store on Stone Street.
Police took Daysha Hannan, 21, and Paul Fazzi, 23, both of Augusta, into custody Thursday afternoon and expect to charge the pair with two counts of robbery apiece, Lt. Christopher Massey said.
In Tuesday’s robbery, police allege Hannan handed a note to an employee at Grondin’s Certified Cleaners threatening violence if the employee didn’t give her money. The pair had visited the cleaners earlier and asked about the services, Massey said.
While police still were looking for the two suspects, a similar robbery was reported around 3:15 p.m. Thursday at the Stone Street convenience store. Hannan, with a blue bandanna covering her face, allegedly handed a similar note to an employee, saying she had a weapon, Massey said.
Massey wouldn’t disclose how much money was taken from the two businesses, but he said it was less than $250.
A little more than an hour after the robbery, police arrested Fazzi on an unrelated warrant, Massey said. Police found Hannan about 20 minutes after that. Both were walking on Glenridge Drive and were cooperative with police, he said.
Bail hadn’t been set as of 7 p.m. Thursday.
