A benefit spaghetti supper is planned for 4-7 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the American Legion Post 205, 400 Eastern Ave., Augusta.
Proceeds will be used to send school supplies collected for an Eagle Scout Project by Matrim Glazier, 16, a Life Scout in Troop 436 in Waterville. He has partnered with Hope Ministries and the Build a School in Zambia Project to collect school supplies for 100 students in Zambia, according to a news release by Glazier.
Glazier’s goal is to collect the following supplies for each child: two pencils, pens and erasers (pencil top or bar style), ruler, pencil sharpener, a pair of scissors, box of crayons, markers, color pencils and chalk, one folder and notebooks. Anyone who brings a school supply item for donation will be entered into a drawing for a door prize.
Glazier has a FaceBook page to help people track his progress, search Matrim Glaziers Eagle Scout Project.
