Winthrop High School recently announced that Lilly Marie Beauregard has been selected by faculty members to receive the 2015 Principal’s Award. She is the daughter of Andrew Beauregard and Sarah Prescott, of Winthrop.
During her four years at Winthrop High School, Beauregard has maintained an excellent scholastic record (salutatorian of her class) while also participating in many co-curricular activities. She is a student who can be counted on in the classroom, on the playing field and as a student leader. She much deserves this recognition.
She played soccer (grades 9-10), basketball (grades 9-10) and served as basketball manger (11-12) softball (grades 9-12) and ran cross-country (grades 11-12) and named captain her senior year. Beauregard has expressed her musical talent playing in the concert band (grades 9-12) and attended the Kennebec Music Festival (grades 10-12). She has been a vocal member of the Student Council starting in freshman year as class representative and going through the ranks as treasurer, vice-President and finally president her senior year.
Outside of school Beauregard has worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor. She plans to attend the University of New England majoring in pre-pharmacy.
Beauregard and Principal Keith Morin will attend an MPA Honors Luncheon in Bangor where they will join other MPA Principals’ Award winners from across the state.
The luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of 10 $1000 scholarships.
