AUGUSTA — The American Lung Association is partnering with L.L. Bean for its spring Healthy Living Series set for 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, at the L.L. Bean Bike, Boat and Ski store in Freeport. The event will focus on how to practice healthy living habits and how to continue fitness activities throughout Maine’s seasons, according to a news release from the ALA.

Event registration will be from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

The free Healthy Living Series will include interactive sessions with several guest speakers including Doug Welch of the Maine Island Trails Association, who will focus on sea kayaking for beginners; Scott Finlayson of BKOOL Interactive Trainer, who will demonstrate BKOOL cycling trainers; and Jim Kaiser of BoardWorks SUP, who will talk about beginner-intermediate paddle boarding.

“The American Lung Association is thankful for our longstanding partnership with L.L. Bean,” said Jeff Seyler, president & CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast, in the release. “This event brings in a variety of people who are interested in learning healthy habits, which coincides with our mission of improving lung health and preventing lung disease.”

The American Lung Association’s staff will also be on hand to answer questions about their largest cycling event in the nation, the Trek Across Maine June 19-21. To RSVP, email TrekAcrossMaine@LungNE.org or call 624-0312.
