FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Rodney McGruder made two free throws with 1.3 seconds left and the Maine Red Claws edged the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 87-86 Tuesday night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
Romero Osby scored a team-high 22 points in his season debut for Maine, and Tim Frazier recorded his third triple-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists in his return after playing three games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Red Claws fell behind 84-81 with 2:41 left, but Frazier made two straight field goals for an 85-84 lead. Gary Talton got Fort Wayne’s final points on a layup with 12.2 seconds to play.
Christian Watford scored 18 points for Maine. Omari Johnson scored 14 and McGruder finished with 10.
