WINSLOW — Delaney Wood made seven saves for the Winslow field hockey team and Ashley Kelly stopped four shots for Leavitt as the two teams played to a scoreless tie in double overtime Thursday.
Both teams had their fair share of chances in regulation and overtime, but could not get the ball into the back of the cage. The Black Raiders had a goal called back in regulation after it hit a player’s foot before going into the goal, while the Hornets nearly scored on a shot that hit the post prior to the extra sessions.
Winslow is now 5-0-1 in Eastern Class C, while Leavitt is 4-1-1 in Western Class B.
LAWRENCE 6, EDWARD LITTLE 0: The Bulldogs got two goals each from Domi Lewis and Hallee Parlin to improve to 7-0-0 on the season.
Lauren Watson had a goal and three assists for the Bulldogs, Lilla Tilton-Flood notched a goal and McKenna Rogers and Molly Folsom each chipped in with assists.
Danica Nadeau had 22 saves in goal for the Red Eddies (3-3-1).
NOKOMIS 3, WATERVILLE 0: Mikayla Charters scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the Warriors to the win in Newport.
Mikayla Pelkey and Shannon Kasprzak each had goals for Nokomis (2-3-1), while Hanna Meservey chipped in with an assist.
Caitlin White made 15 saves for Waterville (0-6-0).
BELFAST 3, MOUNT VIEW 2: Kylie Nelson scored three unassisted goals to lead the Lions past the Mustangs in Thorndike.
Reanna Boulay scored both Mt. View (2-2-2) goals, with the second assisted by Austyn Thomas.
Belfast improves to 3-2-0 with the win.
Field Hockey
Messalonskee 1, Oxford Hills 0: Ally Corbett scored in the second half off an assist from Ally Leighton to give the Eagles the win in South Paris. Messalonskee is 7-0 and Oxford Hills is 5-2.
GIRLS SOCCER
MT. BLUE 1, BREWER 1 (2OT): Sierra Hoes’ goal with a little over five minutes remaining helped the Cougars scratch out a tie with the Witches in Farmington.
Gretchen Wright had the lone Brewer (4-0-1) goal. Addie Schant had 16 saves in net for Mt. Blue (2-1-2).
WOMEN’S FIELD HOCKEY
THOMAS 6, DANIEL WEBSTER 0: Brittany Premo and Taylor Bergeron each scored a pair of goals to lead the Terriers to the non-conference win at Bernatchez Field.
Premo gave Thomas the lead just 10 minutes into the contest and two minutes later Crystal Cunningham scored to get the rout rolling.
Gabby Martell also had a goal for Thomas, while Brittany Fox and Jessica Russell made one save each to pick up the shutout.
