HARTLAND — Two men and a woman face drug-related charges after the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office searched a home Wednesday on Crosby Street in Hartland, seizing about $70,000 worth of drugs and cash, officials said.

Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster said Thursday in a statement that the 9:25 a.m. search of Dereck James Cronkite and Sadye Jo Day’s home took place after a monthlong investigation into illegal drug activity at the residence.
Sheriff’s detectives and patrol officers from the Sheriff’s Office’s criminal division seized about 630 grams, or about 1.4 pounds, of fentanyl and cocaine, 50 Suboxone strips, controlled pills, more than $39,000 in cash suspected to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, a loaded AK-47, two long guns, digital scales, drug packaging materials and illegal drug-related paraphernalia, according to Lancaster.
Cronkite, 33, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A offense, and the charges were aggravated due to the amount of drugs seized and the presence of firearms with the drugs, Lancaster said.

Cronkite is scheduled to appear on the charges Dec. 14 at Somerset County Unified Criminal Court in Skowhegan.
His bail was set at $25,000 cash, and he posted bail with special conditions that he have no contact with Day, not use or possess illegal drugs, be required to be searched and tested for illegal drugs upon articulable suspicion and not return to Day’s home, place of employment or place of education.
Day, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, Class A offenses, and one count of violation of conditions of release, a Class E offense, according to Lancaster.
“When the search warrant was executed, Day was subject to bail in two unrelated cases in Somerset County,” Lancaster said. “The drug charges are aggravated due to the amount of drugs seized, along with the presence of firearms with the drugs.”
Day also is scheduled to appear Dec. 14 at court in Skowhegan.
Her bail was set at $25,000 cash, and she remained Thursday at the Somerset County Jail in Madison, Lancaster said.

Also in the case, Joshua Allen Washburn, 38, of Hartland was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
His bail was set at $300 cash, which he posted and was released from the jail, according to Lancaster.
The sheriff said additional charges in the cases could be forthcoming once they have been reviewed by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.
