Local students receive degrees from Bowdoin
BRUNSWICK — Five local students have received bachelor’s degrees from Bowdoin College.
They are: Adam Michael Childs of South China, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, who graduated cum laude with a major in chemistry and physics; Evelyn Sarah Dickinson of Bowdoin, who graduated with a major in biology and French; Samuel Nathan Forest Seekins of South China, who graduated with a major in environmental studies —physics; Peter Abbott Tracy of Augusta, who graduated cum laude with a major in mathematics and a minor in theater; and Kasey Margit Villeneuve of Whitefield, who graduated with a major in psychology.
O’Neill graduates, receives honors
UNITY — Ryan J. O’Neill, son of Colene O’Neill of West Gardiner, has graduated from Unity College with a bachelor’s degree in parks and forest management.
O’Neill received The Parks and Forest Management Leadership Award and was named to the honors list — high honors for the spring 2014 semester.
Herrick selected for Fulbright Award
MOUNT VERNON — Mr. and Mrs. Scott Herrick of Mount Vernon are proud to announce that their daughter Samantha has been selected for a Fulbright Award to Taiwan.
Herrick is graduating from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in education and sociology. She has received dean’s list honors every semester and will graduate magna cum laude.
Local students graduate with honors
NEW LONDON, Conn. — Evert Fowle of Vassalboro and Emma Kammerer of Hallowell have received bachelor’s degrees from Connecticut College.
Fowle graduated cum laude with a major in government.
Kammerer graduated cum laude with a major in literatures in English.
Students named to dean’s list at Bates
LEWISTON — Emily Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth J. Clark of Readfield, and Andrew Lachance, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David M. LaChance of Manchester, were named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the winter 2014 semester.
Clark, a 2011 graduate of Maranacook Community School, is majoring in physics.
Lachance is a 2013 graduate of Maranacook Community School.
Dore named to dean’s list at Elmira College
ELMIRA, N.Y. — Katherine Dore of Manchester, Maine, class of 2015 at Elmira College, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 term.
Dore is studying nursing.
Gray, of Hallowell, graduates with MBA
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Kevin Gray of Hallowell, Maine, has received a master of business administration from Lehigh University.
Goodwin graduates magna cum laude
PITTSTON — Brian Matthew Goodwin, of Pittston, recently graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Maine, with a bachelor’s degree in geography/anthropology.
Goodwin is the son of Robin and Sharon Goodwin of Pittston and grandson of Wentworth and Kathleen Goodwin of Pittston and Lucille Peacock of Gardiner.
