I am scratching my head trying to figure out if writer Frank Slason is serious when he talks about Trump telling the truth (“This time around, Trump has my vote,” letter, July 2). By most accounts Trump treats the truth as if it was irrelevant and negotiable.
Also curious is Mr. Slason’s being most impressed by Trump as a teenager seeing “West Side Story,” buying a switchblade and wanting to become a Shark (by the way, Frank, the Sharks were the Puerto Rican gang; I think Trump would side with the Jets).
If Trump should run again in 2024 we can expect more anger, distortions, and divisiveness coming from him. If that’s your cup of tea, so be it. It is not what most Americans want or need.
