The Embden Historical Society is searching for the town’s oldest resident. The last Boston Post Cane holder has passed, and it’s time for a new recipient.

Embden first received its cane in 1909. That cane and its recipient are unknown.

The society later had a replica made together with a number of other towns that had lost their cane. The cane, first presented to Ivan Mullin in 2000, has since been presented to six other holders, according to a news release from Carol Dolan, society president.
