Redington-Fairview General Hospital partnered with local leaders and offered a walking tour May 5, visiting some of Skowhegan’s Hope Gardens.

Hope Gardens are part of the Yellow Tulip Project to help raise awareness of mental illness and promote the effort to reduce stigma and spread hope.

The effort also aims to build community around mental illness so that people know there is always help and hope, and that no one should ever suffer alone, according to a news release from Brittney Dunphy, RFGH Community Health educator.

The tour was made possible by their partners, as well as the many schools and organizations that planted Hope Gardens this past fall that were not visited during the Hope Walk.
