HAMPDEN — Noah McMahon was 3 for 4 with a home run, and the Skowhegan baseball team plated a run in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Hampden Academy 4-3 on Wednesday.

McMahon had three RBIs, while teammate Quintcey McCray had a hit, a walk and a run scored. Skowhegan (8-1) struck out only once as a team.

River Hawks pitcher Jackson Quinn allowed six hits in a complete-game performance. He struck out five and walked five.

TJ Llerena and Kaysen Wildman had two hits apiece for Hampden (5-3). Wildman allowed three hits and three runs, all earned, over five inings.

 

WATERVILLE 5, BELFAST 1: Gage Hubbard had three hits as the Purple Panthers (6-3) prevailed at Waterville.

Chris Nawfel and Felix Chapa each had two hits for Waterville, with Nawfel driving home two runs. Eli Veilleux earned the win on the mound.

Thomas Littlefield had two hits, including a double, for Belfast (3-8), while Eli Veilleux took the loss.

 

WAYNFLETE/NYA 12, MARANACOOK 2: Cooper St. Hilaire had three hits as Waynflete/NYA (8-0) stayed undefeated with the win at Farmingdale.

Daxton St. Hilaire and Tanner Anctil had two hits apiece for Waynflete/NYA, while Oscar Twining earned the win in relief of Cooper St. Hilaire.

Jake McLaughlin had two hits for Maranacook (3-6), while taking the loss on the mound.

 

OXFORD HILLS 13, MT. BLUE 1: Connor Fitts had a triple and a double while driving home four as the Vikings (5-2) won in Farmington.

Hunter Tardif had a triple and two singles with two RBIs. Kurtis Brown had two RBIs while Brady Truman had four hits and an RBI from the leadoff spot.

Brown went five innings, giving up a run on two hits while striking out one.

Brody Walsh went 4 1/3 innings for Mt. Blue (5-3), giving up seven runs and striking out one. He had an RBI at the plate.

 

SOFTBALL

 

SKOWHEGAN 6, HAMPDEN 2: Annabelle Morris had a double, two singles and an RBI to lift the River Hawks to the win in Skowhegan.

Lydia Jones added a double for Skowhegan (9-0).

Hampden dropped to 4-4.

 

MCI 17, ST. DOMINIC 11: Skyla Dean was 3 for 5 with two runs scored as the Huskies (4-3) earned a wild win in Lewiston.

MCI scored all its runs in the first four innings, highlighted by a seven-run fourth.

Jyllian Riendeau had two hits, three runs and three RBIs for MCI, while Kassie Snowman had two hits and two RBIs and Abigail McCarron two hits.

Madeline Andrews had three hits and two RBIs for St. Dominic (4-4), and teammate Sophia Franciose had two hits and three RBIs.

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 18, MT. ABRAM 0: Brooklyn Federico threw a one-hitter as the Mustangs (7-0) remained undefeated with the five-inning win at Monmouth.

Zara Salk added two hits and three RBIs for Monmouth, while Maddie Herr also had two hits.

Kate Holt had a double for Mt. Abram (2-5).

 

HALL-DALE 12, TELSTAR 0: Ashlynn Donohue threw a one-hitter and the Bulldogs (7-0) pounded 11 hits in the five-inning win at Bethel.

Jade Graham, Zoe Soule and Torie Tibbetts homered for Hall-Dale, while Donohue and Marie Benoit added two hits apiece.

Peyton Berry doubled for Telstar (1-4).

 

OAK HILL 5, MADISON 4: Kelsey Young allowed only one earned run in the circle as the Raiders (4-4) defeated the Bulldogs in Wales.

Young allowed seven hits and struck out eight. She also had two RBIs at the plate. Saryn Blais doubled and recorded an RBI while Izzy Whitaker also drove in a run.

Hope Nadeau and Reagan Cowan had two hits each for Madison (6-3). Kylie Furbush took the loss, allowing five runs on four hits while striking out three.

 

WINTHROP 14, DIRIGO 0: Lauryn Wood had a five-inning no hitter for the Ramblers (3-3) in the win at Dixfield.

Wood had eight strikeouts and no walks. Winthrop allowed one error.

Winthrop’s Brynn Stubbert and Annabell Blais each had a double and a single while Ella Rice tripled.

Lana Waite struck out eight for Dirigo (3-3).

 

GIRLS LACROSSE

 

CONY 10, MT. ARARAT 9: Three players had a hat trick to pace the Rams to the win in Augusta.

Abby Morrill, Macy Freeman and Isabella Smith each scored three goals while Emma Buccalleto added one for Cony (6-2). Madison Chavarie made four saves.

Islah Godo had three goals and three assists for the Eagles (5-3) while Evelyn Goudreau scored four goals. Logan Norton and Mallory Stuart rounded out the scoring. Salin Bachor made 12 saves.
