PITTSFIELD — International boarding students at Maine Central Institute plan to host the annual International Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 14, in Parks Gym, 295 Main St.
The public can sample foods from more than a dozen countries prepared by students, faculty and staff.
Since 2007, the MCI community has held the festival to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of students and faculty who come to the school from many countries and regions around the world. International students and advisors plan and prepare food offerings, feature music from their home countries, and develop promotional materials for the event, according to a news release from Artur Fass, event organizer.
The festival is a way for students to give back to the local community that has welcomed them by providing a family-oriented celebration for area foodies and friends of MCI.
Suggested donations for admission are $3 for students, $5 for adults and $15 for families.
