Leadership Team

Lisa DeSisto is the Chief Executive Officer for Maine Trust for Local News which publishes the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, Kennebec Journal, Morning Sentinel, and The Coastal Journal. In August 2017, Lisa assumed the same role for the Sun Media Group which publishes the Lewiston Sun Journal, The Forecaster/Current Newspapers, Franklin Journal, Livermore Falls Advertiser, Penobscot Times, Advertiser-Democrat Norway, Bethel Citizen, Rumford Falls Times, Rangeley Highlander, Maine Women Magazine, My Generation and 95 North. In April 2018, Lisa also took on leadership of the Biddeford Journal Tribune, Brunswick Times Record, and the Mainely Media weekly newspapers.

Lisa sits on the board of the Maine Press Association, Associated Press, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Foundation and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine. She also serves as an advisor for the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute working directly with a group of high school students to develop their values, voice and vision. Lisa hosts a bi-monthly live event; “Like A Boss” where she interviews other Maine CEOs on their leadership principles.

Before joining MTM in November 2012, Lisa spent most of her career at The Boston Globe where she served as Chief Advertising Officer and General Manager for Boston.com. Lisa’s leadership directed the site’s development into the most visited local media website in New England. She joined Boston.com as marketing manager just two days after the site’s launch in 1995.

In 2006, Lisa was named Online Innovator of the Year by the Newspaper Association of America. Boston Magazine named her one of the Most Powerful Women in Boston. Lisa is a 1985 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and lives with her family and a herd of goats and alpacas in North Yarmouth.

Stefanie serves on leadership team at Maine Trust for Local News as Vice President, Consumer Revenue and is responsible for the distribution and marketing of the company’s products and services. Stefanie Manning joined MTLN in May 2013, after 20+ years of marketing experience at prominent multi-media brands including New York Magazine, SELF Magazine, Newsweek, BusinessWeek and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Stefanie’s connection to Maine is by marriage – she and her husband Tom restored, renovated and reopened the Miss Portland Diner in 2008. Stefanie also produces Harvest on the Harbor, Portland’s annual food & drink festival. She is a 1989 graduate of Ohio University and lives in Cape Elizabeth.

Jody, a Lewiston native with more then 30 years of advertising, marketing and business development experience, started working at the Sun Journal as a part time employee taking classified ads in 1988. She has worked as the telephone room supervisor, executive sales assistant, marketing assistant, account executive and advertising administrative manager.

In 2008 she was appointed advertising director and was named Vice President for Advertising in April 2018. In her current publisher role she oversee all properties in the Sun Media Group, including the Sun Journal and weekly publications The Advertiser Democrat, Bethel Citizen, Franklin Journal, Livermore Falls Advertiser, The Rangeley Highlander and The Rumford Falls Times.

Matt Fulton joined Maine Trust for Local News as Vice President of Digital Development in October 2013 from local digital agency, Kemp Goldberg, where he was the technical lead working on a variety of development/design projects for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local Maine brands. Matt previously worked at the Boston Globe where he served as manager of advertising technology and also as sales development manager. He also has the experience of working at a start-up in the e-reader space.

The Maine Trust for Local News Digital Services team is responsible for the development, functionality, and user-experience for all of our digital products including our websites, replica editions, mobile sites, and additional digital products.

Matt and his wife live in North Yarmouth with their three young children.

Andrew joined the IT department at the Sun Journal in 2009 and was named director of the team in 2019.

Andrew started his career in PC repair and customer service right of high school at Dunlap Corp in Auburn. His IT philosophy comes from his time at Dunlap, where the motto was, “We start by listening.” Andrew believes IT customer service starts by listening to fully understand a problem before providing solutions.

Andrew is an alumni of Central Maine Community College and the University of Maine at Augusta.

Amy joined Maine Trust for Local News in 2011 as its senior financial analyst and in 2019 was named Group Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Her previous roles have included director of operations for a management company, market analyst for a commercial real estate appraiser and marketing & benefits assistant for an insurance broker.

Amy has a B.A. in business economics from the University of Maine at Farmington and is working toward her master’s degree in Southern New Hampshire University’s Global MBA Program. She earned her real estate license in 2010.

As a mother of three, Amy is a natural at multi-tasking and mediation and does her best to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Mike became the group director of production for Maine Trust for Local News in 2021.

Mike graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in newspaper production management. He previously worked as the Vice President of operations and circulation at the Providence Journal, and held positions at the Gaston Gazette in North Carolina, Rand Whitney in Lowell, Massachusetts and Custom & Miller Box in Pawtucket, R.I., as well as a prior stint at the Press Herald from 2010 to 2015. He returned to the Press Herald in 2021.

He and his wife have been married for 32 years and have a son in the area. His hobbies are wide-ranging and include shooting civil war era guns in competition, astrophotography, miniature wargaming and restoring old computers to working condition..

Jenn joined Maine Trust for Local News as a Human Resources Generalist in July of 2018. She was promoted to Director of Human Resources in April of 2020.

Jenn’s career started in radio broadcasting, where she served as Programming Coordinator, Assistant Production Director, and on-air personality across several Maine radio stations. After years of connecting with listeners over the airwaves, Jenn decided to take her passion for people and communication in a different direction and pursued a career in Human Resources. Jenn believes in a customer service approach to HR, bringing her ability to engage with people from the radio waves to MaineToday Media.

Jenn lives in Southern Maine and is an avid supporter of animal adoption and rescue. She volunteers with HART, a local cat rescue in Cumberland, on their HR board.

Allison’s team leverages all METLN properties and capabilities to create new sales opportunities broadly, as well as develop strategic, creative solutions to meet individual client needs. In addition, she oversees the Branded Content Studio, which creates sponsored content for advertisers across all platforms, and the Live Events team, which hosts experiences to deepen the connection between our newsrooms, readers and sponsors.

Allison came to the Press Herald after nine years at The Boston Globe. After living in downtown Boston, she was eager for green space, visible stars at night and a yard for her dog.

A journalist since 1990 and former editorial page editor for the Sun Journal, she was named Maine’s Journalist of the Year in 2003. She serves on the New England Newspaper & Press Association Board of Directors and was the 2018 recipient of the Judith Vance Weld Brown Spirit of Journalism Award.

A fellow of the National Press Foundation and the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism, she attended George Washington University, lives in Auburn with her husband, Phil, and is an active member of the Bicycle Coalition of Maine.
