“I’m a high school librarian here in Maine and also the president of the Maine Association of School Libraries. I’m vacationing at Great Pond this week in North Belgrade and making my way through a stack of books:

“‘Sea of Tranquility’ by Emily St. John Mandel (reading for my book group)

“‘Listening to ‘All My Rage’ by Sabaa Tahir, which is a young adult novel I will recommend to my students

“’The Swimmers’ by Julie Otsuka which I’m reading for another book group

“’Point-less: An English Teacher’s Guide to More Meaningful Grading’ by Sarah Zerwin, ‘4 essential studies: Beliefs and Practices to Reclaim Student Agency’ by Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher, and ‘The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story’ by Nikole Hannah-Jones.
