WATERVILLE — The eighth annual Cruisin’ for a Cure Car Show was held June 4 at the Lafleur Airport.
The event, hosted by New Dimensions Federal Credit Union, raised a record-high amount $20,240, and with the addition of the CO-OP Miracle Match of $10,000, the total is $30,240 for 2022, according to a news release from the Waterville credit union.
The annual event is held to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program — an affiliate of The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Scarborough. This year, fundraising activities included a 50/50 raffle and a Super Raffle that included a Yeti Package.
Additionally, more money was raised by grilling hot dogs, sausage and onions, deep-frying fries, selling pizza by the slice, and making sure breakfast pizza was available.
Other efforts to raise money were the proceeds from T-shirt sales, car registration fees, and patron donations.
