FARMINGTON — There will be no parade as such again this year, but Memorial Day Monday, May 30, will be observed at several locations in town.
At 9:30 a.m. everyone is invited to meet at the World War I Memorial Arch at the intersection of Main Street and Box Shop Hill. Roderick-Crosby American Legion Post 28 will present the colors, prayers will be given, a wreath placed and taps played.
Americanism Officer Butch Tracy said a member from the post may give some remarks as part of the service.
The color guard and Mt. Blue Middle School band will then lead a procession to Meetinghouse Park where similar recognitions will be held. From there the group will make its way to Center Burying Ground Cemetery and finally to the Post on Middle Street for additional recognition services.
There are no services planned in Chesterville or Wilton, however there will be a brief service at the Weld Library at 1 p.m.
