Maine Event Comedy plans to presents Jody Sloane at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Gendron Franco Center46 Cedar Street in Lewiston. The show also will feature Al Ghanekar and Kevin Neales.
Sloane cut her entertainment teeth as a cheeky “Conducktor” named Penny Wise on the Boston Duck Tours. She’s since logged over 4,000 tours and has become one of New England’s top comics. Impishly perverse, she’ll have you convinced that the darkest corners of truth are ripe for laughter. Sloane is a regular at comedy venues throughout New England and has performed at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City and Comix Comedy Club at Foxwoods, according to a news release from Mark Turcotte of Maine Event Comedy.
Ghanekar left a full-time technology job to pursue stand-up comedy. He’s worked with national headliners at New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club and has performed in Sydney, Australia, and Mumbai, India.
Neales has worn a hat while slinging jokes at the world-famous Comedy Studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Maine Comedy Festival, and The Ice House in Pasadena. He’s worked with nationally touring comedians Mike Birbiglia, Juston McKinney, and Tom Cotter.
The show is for ages 18-and-over and will contain adult language and content.
Tickets cost $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and may be purchased online at FrancoCenter.org.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
