A Madison man has been charged after police say they executed a drug search warrant during a motor vehicle stop last week in Skowhegan.
Jonathan Charron, 34, of Madison, is charged with aggravated trafficking in a scheduled W drug, possession of a scheduled W drug and violation of conditions of release.
In a news release Wednesday, Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster reports that Charron was stopped last Thursday on Middle Road in Skowhegan around 10 a.m.
The sheriff’s office and an agent from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency executed an active drug search warrant on the motor vehicle and on Charron.
Lancaster said the searches yielded about 15 grams of fentanyl, a couple of grams of crystal methamphetamine, suboxone strips, numerous controlled pills, digital scales and $6,830 in suspected illicit drug proceeds.
Charron’s vehicle, a 2008 Honda Civic, was also seized “due to the vehicle allegedly being utilized to facilitate illicit drug trafficking activities,” Lancaster said.
Lancaster reports that the drugs seized from the warrant have an approximate street value of $2,000.
Additional charges may be pending after review from the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.
