ORONO ā€” Anne Simon and Alba Orois each scored 17 points as the University of Maine won its sixth straight, beating Albany 64-55 Wednesday night in womenā€™s basketball.

The win moved the Black Bears into a second-place tie with Albany in America East with 9-3 conference records. UMaine will play at Albany on Feb. 23.

Caroline Bornemann, Maeve Carroll and Paula Gallego each scored 10 for the Black Bears (12-10 overall).

Kayla Cooper led Albany (16-7) with 17 points.

ST. JOSEPHā€™S 85, ANNA MARIA 73: Cassandra Stapelfeld had 29 points, knocking down six-3-pointers, to lead the Monks (17-4, 11-2 GNAC) over the AmCats (3-16, 2-11) at Paxton, Massachusetts.

Angelica Hurley had 16 points for St. Josephā€™s, Hailey Anderson scored 11 and Kaleigh Walsh added 10.

Marinique Reddin had 21 points for Anna Maria, with Franchesca Hammond chipping in with 20.

SOUTHERN MAINE 70, PLYMOUTH STATE 38: The Huskies (6-13, 5-4 Little East) trailed 13-12 at end of the first quarter but used a 20-6 second quarter, paced by three-3-pointers from Katie Bagley, to take control and pull away from the Panthers (1-16, 0-12) at Gorham.

Jackie Luckhardt had 19 points to lead Southern Maine. Amy Fleming contributed 14 points and Bagley finished with 12.

Lauren Keller had 13 points for Plymouth State.

BATES 74, BOWDOIN 61: Meghan Graff had 19 points as the Bobcats (13-6, 5-3) topped the Polar Bears (16-7, 5-4) at Lewiston.

Morgan Kennedy and Ariana Dalia each had 13 points for Bates with Brianna Gadaleta adding 11.

Sela Kay led Bowdoin with 18 points.

CENTRAL MAINE CC 70, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 61: The Mustangs (20-3, 9-2 YSCC) used a 20-3 second quarter to pull out to a 35-22 halftime advantage and held off a second-half surge to top the Seawolves (17-3, 11-2) at South Portland.

Emily Strachan paced CMCC with 32 points and Eliza Brault added 10.

Hannah Richards had 27 points to lead SMCC, which cut the margin to a point in the fourth quarter but came up short.

(2) STANFORD 82, OREGON STATE 59: Hannah Jump scored 19 points with five 3-pointers, Cameron Brink added 12 points and host Stanford (19-3, 10-0 Pac-12) ran its winning streak to 11 gamesĀ  by beating Oregon State (11-8, 4-5).

Jump had three 3s in the first half and shot 5 for 12 from deep overall and sixth-year senior Anna Wilson matched her career high with four steals for the Cardinal in their 25th consecutive win against Pac-12 opponents.

(7) INDIANA 93, ILLINOIS 61: Ali Patberg scored a season-high 26 points to lead visiting Indiana (17-3, 9-1 Big Ten) to a 93-61 win over Illinois (6-13, 1-7).

The Hoosiers hit six of their first seven shots, and Patberg opened the game on a tear, hitting a jumper and a layup early. She nailed a second-chance 3 with 2:30 to go in the opening quarter as the Hoosiers raced to a 24-6 lead.

VILLANOVA 72, (8) UCONN 69: Lior Garzon scored 19 points and Maddie Siegrist added 17 as visiting Villanova (16-6, 10-3 Big East) beat UConn (15-5, 9-1), ending the Huskiesā€™ 169-game conference winning streak.

UConn last lost a conference game back in the old Big East Conference in 2013.

(10) BAYLOR 95, KANSAS STATE 50: Queen Egbo had 19 points and 16 rebounds, and three other Baylor players had at least 19 points as the host Bears (18-5, 8-3 Big 12) overwhelmed the Wildcats (17-7, 7-5).

Jordan Lewis had 24 points and NaLyssa Smith had 22 and Sarah Andrews 19 for the Bears.

(15) MARYLAND 70, WISCONSIN 43: Angel Reese had 19 points and nine rebounds, Chloe Bibby scored 16 points, and host Maryland (18-6, 10-3 Big Ten) beat Wisconsin (6-17, 3-10) for its sixth straight win.

(16) TEXAS 61, TEXAS TECH 56: Joanne Allen-Taylor scored 14 points and blocked a potential tying shot with less than 10 seconds to play, Lauren Ebo made two clinching free throws with 6.7 seconds remaining and visiting Texas (16-6, 6-5 Big 12 Conference) edged Texas Tech (9-13, 2-9).

(22) FLORIDA GULF COAST 63, NORTH ALABAMA 53: Tishara Morehouse scored 13 of her 19 points in the third quarter and host Florida Gulf Coast (22-1, 11-0 ASUN Conference) beat North Alabama (9-13, 4-6) for its 15th straight victory.

( 24) OREGON 83, WASHINGTON STATE 30: Endyia Rogers scored 17 points, Te-Hina Paopao added 14 and visiting Oregon (15-7, 8-3 Pac-12) routed Washington State (14-8, 6-5) for the largest margin of victory in the 90-game series.

(25) IOWA 88, MINNESOTA 78: Caitlin Clark scored 32 points and Iowa (16-6, 10-3 Big Ten Conference) scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to pull out a win over visiting Minnesota (11-14, 4-9).

MAINE 73, ALBANY 63: Maks Klanjscek scored 21 points as the Black Bears (5-18, 2-10 AE) topped the Great Danes (10-14, 6-7) in Albany, New York.

Vukasin Masic had 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Maine. Byron Ireland and Jashonte Wright-Mcleish each scored 11 points, with Ireland adding four rebounds.

Albany was led by Matt Cerruti with 14 points. Jarvis Doles had 10 points and eight rebounds.

PLYMOUTH STATE 72, SOUTHERN MAINE 70:Ā Kyler Bosseā€™s late free-throw shooting helped the Panthers (13-9, 8-5 LEC) squeak by the Huskies (9-12, 4-8) in Gorham.

Bosse finished with 26 points and six rebounds. Manny Alisandro and Manny Sanchez each scored 10 points, with Alisandro grabbing six rebounds.

Marcus Christopher led USM with 19 points and five rebounds. Cody Hawes had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. Jason Lombard had 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. Chance Dixon also had 10 points.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 81, CENTRAL MAINE CC 73:Ā Ā Ian Regan had 18 points to lead the Seawolves (15-5, 12-1 YSCC) over the Mustangs (10-11, 5-7) at South Portland.

SMCC had all five starters in double digits. Zach Markle had 17 points, Cameren Cousins added 12 and Jack Pyzynski and DeSean Cromwell chipped in with 11 apiece.

Croey David had 19 to lead CMCC.

SMU 85, (6) HOUSTON 83: Kendric Davis scored 22 points and Marcus Weathers added 20 as SMU (17-7, 8-2 American Athletic Conference) rallied from a 15-point second half deficit to stun Houston (20-3, 9-1) at Dallas.

Davis sank two free throws with 40.6 seconds remaining to break an 81-all tie. Michael Weathers hit the second of two free throws with 24.1 seconds left for a three-point lead. Houston had a chance to tie in the closing seconds when Kyler Edwards heaved the ball toward the basket from near midcourt with two seconds left and was fouled by Emmanuel Bandoumel.

(10) BAYLOR 75, KANSAS STATE 60:Ā  Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua scored 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting as visiting Baylor (20-4, 8-3 Big 12) beat Kansas State (12-11, 4-7).

James Akinjo added 15 points for the balanced Bears and Adam Flagler had 10. They won their seventh straight over Kansas State and reached 20 wins for the 13th time in the last 15 years.

RUTGERS 66, (16) OHIO STTE 64: Geo Baker had 25 points, including the go-ahead free throws with 18.8 seconds left, and host Rutgers (14-9, 8-5 Big Ten) scored the final 10 to stunĀ  Ohio State (14-6, 7-4).

Baker scored eight of the 10 points in the game-ending spurt and assisted on a dunk by Cliff Omoruyi that tied it 64-all with 1:13 to play.

SETON HALL 73, (25) XAVIER 71: Jared Rhoden scored 25 points to lead Seton Hall (15-7, 6-6 Big East) past visiting Xavier (16-7, 6-6).

Alexis Yetna added 12 points for the Pirates, who have won three straight games.

Jack Nunge led the Musketeers with 22 points.
